$10 Cover / Start 7:30pm / Doors 7pm

Brian Carpenter & The Confessions

"The debut record by The Confessions is a fitting soundtrack to an episode of True Detective or a David Lynch film...an unpredictable, but fascinating listen" -- UTNE Reader

"Brian Carpenter & The Confessions exude the sort of dignified darkness you would expect given the company he keeps...bound to become a big name" -- Chris DeVille, Stereogum

Brian Carpenter is an American singer-songwriter, composer, arranger, and producer. In 2015, he released the debut album with Brian Carpenter & The Confessions The Far End of the World to widespread critical acclaim. He is the leader, trumpeter, and arranger of Brooklyn's Ghost Train Orchestra, which released their third album Hot Town in 2015. Hot Town made NPR writer Francis Davis's Top 10 Jazz Albums of the Year. He is also the host and producer of Free Association, a radio show and podcast broadcast from WZBC 90.3 FM Boston College.

The Wrong Shapes

"The Wrong Shapes display musical ingenuity...eclectically sterling" -- Michael Marotta, Vanyaland

Like Lou Reed and Nico floating on a drum machine in a sea of looped cellos and guitars…Bo and Rachel Barringer make music dark introspective music with just the right amount of uplift and ache. The Boston- based guitar/cello/drum machine/vocal duo released their debut album in June 2014 and plan a series of monthly singles over 2015.
