Yazhi Guo - The Dragon's Song

$25 Cover ($20 Advance) / Start 7pm / Doors 6:30pm

Yazhi Guo(郭雅志), the maestro who is believed to be the best suona (唢呐) player in Asia, is going to hit The Lilypad and blow the audience away with his magic sound on magic instruments.

As the pre-recording show for his upcoming New Age album, Yazhi and his album producer Yicheng Wu has prepared an original musical recipe with both traditonal Chinese flavor and  modern Western taste. Ethnic dishes from India, Ireland and Turkey will also add to the table and make you dance crazy.

Led by Grammy member Utar Atun, a Boston all-star band is sharing the stage with special guests Jussi Reijonen, Bengisu Gokce, Tao He and Zihan Weng. Moreover, Yazhi himself will play almost every single Chinese woodwind instrument you probably know. Thanks to Yazhi's inventions on suona and hulusi (葫芦丝), not to mention Yicheng's hauntingly beautiful melody, the instruments you're familiare or not familiar with will make the sound you could never imagine even in your wildest dreams.

This'll be a night with mind-blowing music and once-a-lifetime adventure. When the dragon starts to sing, the world shall listen.
