Umbrella Pine
Magdalena Abrego and Allison Burik have cultivated their sound as a duo in a project titled Umbrella Pine. By utilizing a combination of alto saxophone, bass clarinet, electric guitar, and electronics, the two seek to explore possibilities within improvisation. The project features original compositions as well as arrangements of music by Eric Dolphy, Albert Ayler, and others.
Cooper-Moore/Brian Price Duo
“Armed with his arsenal of beautiful homemade instruments, I have heard Cooper-Moore deliver everything from gospel rave-ups to funky breakdowns to freeform freakouts. It’s all done with skill, conviction, and reverence, and is a millions miles away from any ironic genre-hopping novelty. It’s both forward-looking and accessible.” – 50 Miles of Elbow Room
"Brian Price infused extra power to the music by growling and roaring in a fierce turmoil." - JazzTrail
Cooper-Moore and Brian Price have performed across the United States and Europe in schools, festivals, and clubs for the past six years. Music moves in its calls for emotional openness and committed intention across song of love, blues, funk, ballads, tango, and free imaginings. Resonant gratitude for the power of expression.
