$10 Cover @ the Door / Start 4:30pm / Doors 4pm

Industrial Art Rock trio lovelesslust comes to the Boston area for their first east coast tour.  Graduates of Berklee College of Music, this LA based group has recently had success in collaborations with heavyweights in the industrial genre, including Chris Corner of IAMX / Sneaker Pimps, Christian Eigner of Depeche Mode, Jay Gordon of Orgy, Daniel Graves of Aesthetic Perfection, and Ryan Shuck / Amir Derakh of Julien-K / Orgy.  They are touring in support of their first major release, "The Car Crash That Ended Her Life Came As No Surprise"

lovelesslust is a contradiction. As two words (“loveless lust”), it means the opposite of it as three words (“love, less lust”). The battle of primal urges against intellectual reasoning. Harmony and noise. Black and white.

The brainchild of composer, producer, and performer Johnathan Cooper, LA-based lovelesslust bridges the gap between rock band and art piece; the band’s industrial electronic sound coalesces with sinister original art that flanks the stage and a black and white visual motif that unites the musicians themselves with their art.

Cooper and the rest of the band, guitarist/bassist Dana Wells and drummer Anders LaSource, have an electrifying and rawly emotional stage presence that they have utilized playing shows at renowned venues like Bar Sinister, House of Blues - Main Stage, and The Viper Room, as well as on their 2014 AntiYouth Tour across the southwest, which culminated in playing to a packed house in Austin during SXSW.

Just before the completion of the 44th song on the “endless album” Romantic Perversion, to which Cooper added a new fully-produced demo nearly every month for over 4 years, in July 2014, Chris Corner of IAMX and Sneaker Pimps remixed the crowd-favorite anthem for abused lovers "AntiYouth".

With 44 demo tracks complete, the band turns its attention to a new focus: the new album entitled THE CAR CRASH THAT ENDED HER LIFE CAME AS NO SURPRISE, which pulls the 11 best songs of the 44 and fleshes them out to include Wells and LaSource. Mixed by Amir Derakh (Julien-K, Orgy), the album represents a new phase for the band, incorporating the band's live energy, vocal harmonies, and lush strings into their synth-heavy sound.

On the sexy 80s-inspired “Lowlife Novelties”, Cooper and Wells pull you in with seductively whispered lines, whereas the menacingly bouncy “Whiteout” sarcastically celebrates a night of partying gone too far. Other standouts include “Heaven’s Black and White” (a beautifully understated ballad) and the aforementioned rocker “AntiYouth”.

More recently, lovelesslust released a cover of “Fashion” by David Bowie, premiering on PureVolume and quickly becoming one of the top stories of the week.

Recently release in September 2017 is a remix album, featuring Chris Corner (IAMX, Sneaker Pimps), Jay Gordon (Orgy), Daniel Graves (Aesthetic Perfection), and SlikNik (featuring Christian Eigner of Depeche Mode), spinning their takes on lovelesslust originals in a release called "And Her Actions Failed To Matter".
