Daniel Shugrue is a Boston-based Classical Guitarist whose repertoire spans from the baroque to present day. Dedicated to sharing the magic of the guitar in the community and underserved populations, he performs regularly in the Boston area, including North Cambridge Senior Center, Josephine A. Fiorentino Community Center, the Kennedy School, and at the Somerville Council on Aging.
Daniel completed a BA in Asian Studies at Washington Unviersity in St.Louis where he studied the classical guitar with Bill Lenihan. He currently studies with the internationally acclaimed guitarist Adam Levin. Previous teachers include Robert Bekkers, Simon Powis, Ben Verdery, Gohar Vardanyan and Zaira Meneses.
In addition to classical guitar, Daniel is an avid fan of rock guitar and has performed in Cambridge (The Middle East, TT The Bear's) , Somerville (Kendall Cafe), St. Louis (The Red Sea), and Nanjing (Nanjing University and the Nanjing Forestry Institute). He is currently serves on the board of trustees for the Kithara Project.
