Indie-folk songwriter Elodie and her band, the True North, are celebrating the release of their debut EP, “Things That Are Broken”. They will be supported by indie songwriter Meryl Rudy and pop/alternative singer-songwriter Claudia Gruber.
Elodie
Elodie is an indie-folk guitarist and songwriter currently based in Boston, MA. She enrolled in Berklee College of Music to pursue her passion for playing guitar. At Berklee, she discovered her songwriting ability— something she never thought she had. Once she realized her potential as a songwriter, Elodie’s artistic identity was finally solidified. With the support of her band, the True North, she hones a sound that pushes the boundary between indie-folk and rock. Her songwriting style is honest, reflective, and subtly melancholic.
Meryl Rudy
Meryl Rudy is a Boston-based singer/songwriter. For acoustic shows, she performs her original folk/jazz/bluegrass music in her duo group(mandolin and acoustic guitar), ‘Two Birds’. However, with her 8-piece band, Meryl includes the folk/pop but add genres ranging from rap to rock, R&B, reggae and more. Meryl has written over 250 songs about everything from cheesy heartbreak to a random elderly couple to her best friend's depression to falling in love to etc etc etc... At the heart of it, Meryl is a storyteller, passionate for writing and sharing different experiences.
Claudia Gruber
Claudia Gruber is a 21 year old singer/songwriter from central New Jersey, whose style is influenced by her favorite genres such as pop, alternative rock, and jazz. Claudia wrote her first song when she was just 9 years old, and since then, her original music reflects her journey of finding her way through her dreams. Claudia performs both as a solo artist and in vocal groups. She has performed in spaces such as local restaurants, school workshops, the Berklee Performance Center, Boston Symphony Hall, and Boston’s Wang Theatre. In March 2019, she released her debut album titled “Opportunity,” which tells the story of how saying “no” can help your future just has much as saying “yes”. “Opportunity” is available to stream on Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, and more.
