Zack Bacak is a rising performer, educator, and writer. Though recently he has spent the last several years performing and teaching throughout Florida, Zack has now relocated to Boston in pursuit of taking his ideas and projects to the next level.
For 5 years Zack spent time in Florida working with saxophone pedagogs Bill Kennedy and Patrick Meighan at the Florida State University. Here, he was able to meet and perform with artists and groups such as Carmen Bradford (The Count Basie Orchestra), Ana Gasteyer (Saturday Night Live), Dick Oatts (The Village Vanguard Orchestra), Nick Finzer (Outside In Music) and the Tallahassee Jazz Symphony Orchestra. It was through these experience that he also branched into the role of a bandleader, performing original music and arrangements throughout the state.
Following his graduation with both a BME and a BA in performance, Zack was selected as a member of the 2017 Disney All-American College Band, where he worked and performed with artists such as Gordon Goodwin, John Clayton, Wycliffe Gordon, Wayne Bergeron, and Steve Houghton.
