Bahloul & Friends in Concert

Bahloul and Friends will be performing songs from Bahloul's debut album (Talassus | Voyeur) released in June 2019. The songs tell stories of identity, belonging, love, triumphs and defeats. English translations to the lyrics will be projected during the show. The music is Arabic fusion with different moods. The band consists of Acoustic Oud, Electric Oud, Vocals (Bahloul) Keyboard (Mohamed Araki), and Percussion (Dillon Zahner and Ghassan Sawalhi).

Bahloul- is a musician, poet, writer and performance artist. He was born (Hussam Jefee-Bahloul) in Lattakia, Syria, in 1983, and currently lives in America and works and teaches as a clinical psychiatrist. His debut music album “Talassus | Voyeur” (db Realms Production) is released in June 2019

He is the founder of project ta’sheeq which merges the elements of poetry/music/visual art together in multi-sensory performances.

His ta’sheeq theatrical performance "exit the echo chamber" was premiered in Boston and NYC in the fall of 2018. The performance merged Bahloul's original poetry with cello and electronic music and video art.

Under the name Hussam Jefee, he had published two poetry books in Arabic in 2008 and 2017. 

His first English book of poetry (The Chronicler of Indifference) will be released in Soon in the US by Červená Barva Press. His poems appeared in American poetry magazines including Nixes Mate Review, and Cathexis
