22-year-old Darynn Dean is no stranger to Jazz. Her grandfather, Donald Dean Sr. is a renowned Jazz drummer and Darynn has set her sights on taking her place in the family legacy!
A recent graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music, Darynn Dean is one of the best kept secrets in the L.A. jazz scene. Darynn has performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., Disney Hall in Los Angeles, and Jordan Hall in Boston. Her teachers and mentors include Barbara Morrison, Howlett Smith, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Dominique Eade, and pianist Jason Moran.
A true rising star, Darynn says, “I’ve been fortunate to have been recognized amongst the best in my class at each level and can’t wait to share the stage with the Jazz greats of my generation!”
