Elan Mehler
Elan Mehler has released nine albums as a leader. Critics from Downbeat and The New York Times Time Out and The Guardian have said super nice things about him. His last three albums featured great musicians like Dave Douglas, Becca Stevens and Bill Frisell. Through the label Newvelle Records he co-founded in 2016 he's also produced records by luminaries like Jack DeJohnette, John Pattitucci, Tim Berne, Lionel Loueke and many more. Fancy pants.
Dor Herskovits
Boston based Israeli drummer Dor Herskovits is already a staple of the Boston jazz scene and has won international acclaim as an improviser. His melodic approach to playing the drums, combined with vast knowledge of rhythm and a composer's vision make him a unique voice as a drummer. Dor's original music reflects the eclectic nature of music nowadays, drawing from jazz and blues roots, folk and world music, free jazz rock and metal.
As a sought after sideman, he plays in various jazz and experimental groups on the Boston-New York line. He has also toured around the US, Canada, Europe and China. Herskovits has recorded many albums as a sideman, featured on labels such as Newvelle and Endectomorph music, alongside musicians such Grammy award-winning guitarist Bill Frisell, Michael Blake and Jason Palmer. He has also performed with George Garzone, Noah Preminger, Jon Cowherd, Steve Cardenas, Elan Mehler, TJ and the revenge, Bert Seager’s Tet-rap-tych, Max Ridley’s Basement Philharmonic, Daniel Rotem and Xiongguan Zhang. As co-leader of Earprint, he received critical acclaim from publications such as Downbeat magazine, NPR’s critics' poll and many more. In 2018, he established the Dor Herskovits Quintet, featuring saxophonist Hery Paz, guitarist Caio Afiune, pianist Isaac Wilson and bassist Max Ridley. Their debut album “Flying Elephants” will be released in September 2019.
