The Ian Buss Quartet presents Inspirations, a concert featuring music that inspires our artistic journey as well as new original compositions inspired by influential people, places, and events. The band features Ian Buss on saxophone, Pritesh Walia on guitar, Ellie Pruneau on piano, Chris Worden on bass, and Charles Weller on drums.
Originally from San Diego, CA, saxophonist Ian Buss has performed extensively in the United States, Canada and Mexico. He has shared the stage with Grammy nominated singer Sugaray Rayford, jazz trumpeter Jon Faddis, blues legend Buddy Guy, Brazilian vocalist/composer Luciana Souza and others. Ian has also appeared as a featured soloist on live Sirius XM and terrestrial radio broadcasts as well as on various commercial recordings.
In 2018, he participated in the Banff Centre’s prestigious Workshop for Jazz & Contemporary Music, directed by Vijay Iyer and Tyshawn Sorey. Additionally, he holds an MM from New England Conservatory and a BFA from The New School for Performing Arts.
Passionate about music education, Ian maintains a local and online private lesson studio. He has previously served on the faculty of Palomar College, the Young Lions Jazz Conservatory, and UC San Diego Extension.
