The trio, founded back in 2014, is coming to The Lilypad to do a ONE TIME show. Ben Bashat, Ben Ari, and Kaspi will be playing all original music.
Roni Kaspi
At the mere age of 21, Roni Kaspi is already touring the world with renowned bass player Avishai Cohen as a member of his trio, after he stumbled on her playing on social media. Roni’s musical journey started when she was seven years old and was immediately drawn to the drums. She graduated from the prestigious Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts, and received a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music from which she graduated in the fall of 2021.
Roni’s drum playing defies genre. Her musical influences range anywhere from electronic music, jazz and beyond, which in turn constitute her fresh and versatile sound. Being the only musician in her family, music was nonetheless a big part of her upbringing as her parents are both music enthusiasts. When asked why she chose the drums, she explains that they felt natural immediately and became a part of her.
Apart from playing in Avishai’s trio, Roni is also writing and producing her original music under the moniker “Roniponi”, a mixture of electronic, pop and alternative sounds. The first single from the project has been released in January 2021, with the second one coming soon.
