Join Yiddish song/ klezmer ensemble Levyosn for a special concert celebrating havdalah, the ritual that ends Shabbat and wishes everyone gathered a sweet week ahead. Come ready to sing along, dance, and enjoy beautiful harmony-rich arrangements of original songs and traditional gems!
Levyosn takes its name from the Ashkenazi Hebrew word for the leviathan, a mythical sea creature traveling the world’s oceans collecting songs, krill, and dreams. Like this mythical fish, they spend their time in joyful exploration of Yiddish song, klezmer, original compositions, and adjacent Jewish and East European folk traditions. They bring harmony-rich arrangements and driving dance rhythms to old gems and new tunes alike. Their intricate arrangements and rich vocal harmonies make their sound unique. Levyosn recently released their debut album, Levyosn's Lullaby, through Borscht Beat. Levyosn is Lysander Jaffe (violin, voice), Adah Hetko (guitar, voice, songwriting), and Kaia Berman-Peters (accordion, voice, songwriting).
