Please join the Joe Berkovitz Trio at The Lilypad for a concert of Joe's original compositions and more. Joe Berkovitz is a jazz pianist and composer based on Boston's North Shore, with a unique personal style that touches on many genres. Joe attended New England Conservatory, where he studied with Jaki Byard, Ran Blake and George Russell among others. He has performed live with clarinetist Don Byron, and appears on Byron's groundbreaking Elektra/Nonesuch recording "The Tuskegee Experiments". Joe was a co-founder of the Boston Improvisors' Group. Joe was also the creator of Noteflight, a pioneering online tool for composers and arrangers to notate and share their music creations.

Bruno Råberg is an internationally renowned bass player and composer. Since coming to the US from his native Sweden in 1981, he has made 14 recordings as a leader, more than 50 as a sideman, and has performed with numerous world-class artists, including Kris Davis, Walter Smith III, Terri Lyne Carrington, Jerry Bergonzi, Chris Cheek, George Garzone, Kenny Werner, Sam Rivers, Tony Malaby, Donny McCaslin, Bob Moses, Mick Goodrick, Ben Monder, Bruce Barth, Adam Cruz, Ted Poor, and Mike Mainieri. He currently presents concerts for solo bass and leads a tentet featuring pianist Kris Davis and saxophonist Chris Cheek. In 1981, Råberg left his performing career in Europe to come to the USA, thanks to a scholarship to the New England Conservatory in Boston. There he studied with Miroslav Vitous, Mick Goodrick, George Russell, and Bob Moses. Råberg has been a professor at Berklee College of Music since 1986 and teaches in the prestigious Berklee Global Jazz Institute, led by pianist Danilo Perez.

Austin performs regularly with Jerry Bergonzi and has recently performed and/or recorded with Sean Jones, George Garzone, Marquis Hill, Lionel Loueke, Ben Monder, Lage Lund, Kate McGarry, Noah Preminger, Jason Palmer and Alexa Tarantino. He has appeared as an opening act for Grammy award-winners Dianne Reeves and Esperanza Spalding. McMahon is the winner of the 9th annual Independent Music Awards for Best Jazz Song and Nominee for Best Jazz Album in the 11th annual IMA's. His debut CD Many Muses was selected as a CDBaby Editor’s pick and described as "subtle, reverential to tradition, and thoroughly new." He was recently featured on NPR JazzSet with Dee Dee Bridgewater, WLRN Miami (NPR station) and live on WGBH radio, Boston, MA. A dedicated educator, Austin currently teaches at Berklee College of Music, and New England Conservatory (Contemporary Musical Arts, Preparatory & Continuing Education Division). Austin is the co-founder, producer and recording artist for the burgeoning record label Fractamodi and has recorded on over fifty commercially released albums in the past several years.
