Smilley, MR. MAN, & The Frame

  • The Lilypad 1353 Cambridge Street Cambridge, MA, 02139 (map)

Smilley is the DIY project of songwriter/musician Miles Platt. His body of work consists of emotional, raw, and nostalgic alternative/indie rock, and he strives to provide people with a space to be themselves through his self-expression. Smilley's live shows are hyper-focused on making the audience part of the show and represented through the music. Sometimes serious, sometimes silly, often loud, and always honest, Smilley is the perfect storm concocted of catchiness and unwavering emotional honesty.

MR. MAN is the personification of early 20's angst wrapped in a button-up shirt. Blending the intensity of alternative rock with the heart-on-sleeve ethos of emo and the high-octane drive of pop-punk, his music crackles with passion, vulnerability, and boundless energy. The MR. behind the MAN is E.J. Baracewicz, the 21 year old from Boston, MA. At a MR. MAN show, you will be sure to see him jumping, flailing, screaming, singing, rapping…etc. His lyrics emerge from the depths of his psyche, providing an unfiltered look into his struggles with mental health. For MR. MAN, music is more than expression—it's therapy, and he hopes his songs will provide the same healing for others.

Mixing the sounds of classic, blues and southern rock, The Frame is living proof of choosing yourself and fighting for what you love. Consisting of members Josephine Glass and Gable Kinsman, the two have drummed up much excitement in the New York and Los Angeles scenes, respectively. Their energetic, personal, and performative live shows leave crowds wowed with their expressive presence and intricately woven dynamics together as an unforgettable duo.
