Yulia Musayelyan Quartet combines modern jazz harmonies, odd meters, and improvisation, in original compositions and arrangements with influences from folkloric styles of Argentina.
This concert will feature a set of new compositions, which will be part of a new album. This will be a chance to perform the tunes live before going into the studio later this month.

Yulia Musayelyan is a flutist and composer originally from Moscow, Russia. A versatile performer and improviser, she leads an original quartet and tango project, and performs regularly with other cross-genre projects, such as Fernando Huergo Quintet and Big Band, Vadim Neselovskyi Group, Gaia Wilmer Octet and Large Ensemble, Louis Cole Big Band, Chrysalis Orchestra, Brooklyn Orchestra, and Lexington Symphony, among others. She released 4 albums as leader, played on over 40 albums as a sideman, and toured the U.S., the U.K., Europe, Central and South America with various musical projects. Her latest album releases include “Unsaid” (2020) and “Oblivion” (2021).
