Abby Volta
Bio: Abby Volta is a unique new figure entering the music scene. She defies typical genre boundaries and considers herself gothic indie rock. Fusing poetic lyrics with driving bass lines, Abby Volta’s music tells meaningful stories with themes of feminism and queerness. She pulls from multiple genres including Indie, Alternative and Goth, and is best described as a mix of Joni Mithcell and Souxsie and the Banshees. She began singing at a young age and learned the bass in highschool. Currently Abby is pursuing a Bachelors in Music Business Management at Berklee College of Music. While at school she has played shows around New England at venues such as Ralph’s Rock Diner, Square Root and Cafe Nine. In 2022 she released her first single “Noble Beast”, inspired by Angela Carter’s feminist fantasy story “The Bloody Chamber”. Recently Abby has been in the studio working on her newest single “Rabbit Catcher”, inspired by Sylivia Plath’s poem of the same name. “Rabbit Catcher” is set to be released early this summer.
