Eric Vloeimans, trumpet Will Holshouser, accordion
Dutch trumpet star Eric Vloeimans and veteran NYC accordionist Will Holshouser bring their duo to Cambridge (Will’s hometown) for a special appearance at the Lilypad. Their original music blends elements of jazz, folk and classical with dynamic improvisation, spanning the range from wistful to fun. The duo’s latest album is Two for the Road (V-Flow/Challenge Jazz 2022). Eric Vloeimans is one of the best-known musicians in his native country, the Netherlands. He has won numerous prizes for his recordings with projects including Fugimundi, Gatecrash, and Oliver’s Cinema. Vloeimans' versatility, easy-going attitude and great sense of humor have brought him to play with artists such as Mercer Ellington, Peter Erskine, The Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Wayne Horvitz, Nguyên Lê, Joey Baron, the Holland Baroque Society, Bojan Z., the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and many others. Will Holshouser has been active on the New York scene since the 1990s; he has made three albums with his trio for the Clean Feed label, as well as a collaborative trio album with Musette Explosion, featuring Matt Munisteri and Marcus Rojas. Will has also worked with Regina Carter, David Krakauer, Michael Winograd, the Klezmatics, Antony and the Johnsons, and NYC Ballet orchestra.
