Tony Flackett & P Andrew Willis at the Lily Pad

  • The Lilypad 1353 Cambridge Street Cambridge, MA, 02139 (map)

A special night of local music from two artists (P. Andrew Willis and Tony Flackett) that range from wordless layered abstractions to two minute songs about very specific things - Their common ground is their love for off-kilter melodies and post-punk experimentation.

After over 25 years of making instrumental electronic music under the moniker of DJ Flack, multimedia artist Tony Flackett has gone back to his guitar playing roots (he was in the local art-punk three piece Soothing Sounds For Baby from 85-98) and has created a new one-person-band singer/songwriter project under his own name. In addition to guitar and vocals he also employs live looping from his Casio drum machine, a vocal harmonizer and an 80’s Omnichord synth. His songs are short and to the point with music influenced by country, punk, folk and hip-hop and lyrics that tend toward humorous essays on atypical subject matter. His influences include; Tom Waits, The Louvin Brothers, KRS-One, Talking Heads, Phoebe Bridgers, and The Minutemen.
