Premier of the Kap’s Last Tapes & Love Letters Revue, presenting new and re-worked compositions and songs from the Men & Volts’ songbook. This is the first of a series that endeavors to feature local lights of the Boston-Cambridge music scene, featured both in and opening for the band.
Men & Volts have been purveying forward-looking avant-/indie pop, World music and Americana since 1978. The current line-up includes Seth Pappas on drums and Sam Potrykus on bass and vocals. In the Kap’s Last Tapes & Love Letters, Vol. 1 Revue, Philip and the boys will be presenting brand new material from their forthcoming album, and re-worked and refreshed versions of selections from their extensive repertoire.
Bird Mancini (Ruby Bird & Billy Carl Mancini), Boston's acclaimed accordion/guitar rock duo, features eclectic and at times a bit psychedelic acoustic rock pop style with lush vocal arrangements, blues-tinged guitar, accordion, harmonica, melodica and a variety of percussion, bells and whistles. For some occasions an upright bass player is added to the show. Favorite gigs: Cavern Club, Liverpool, England, International Pop Overthrow Fest in Boston & New York City and a West Coast tour. We've shared stages with Leon Russell, David Crosby (of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young), Joan Osborne, Gregg Allman, Jonathan Edwards, James Montgomery, The Stompers, The Outlaws, Mighty Sam McClain and the Pousette-Dart Band. The duo was nominated for a 2017 and 2018 New England Music Award, and a Limelight Award in 2019. Bird Mancini has released 7 full length CDs. "...a cosmopolitan fusion...pop music in the most adventurous, inclusive sense of the term." -The Boston Globe
