Nanseera & Oscar Hall

  • The Lilypad 1353 Cambridge Street Cambridge, MA, 02139 (map)

Oscar Hall, a soft-rock indie singer-songwriter from Arlington, Virginia, intertwines emotive storytelling and an achingly beautiful tone. Shaped by his journey as a student of music therapy at Berklee College of Music and a gift for crafting soul-stirring lyrics, he explores the transformative potential of music in both personal expression and therapeutic practice. His first album, The Art of Losing, released in November of 2020, garnered over fifty thousand streams across platforms, with more music coming in 2024. His music has also earned him spots at Sofar Shows around Boston, as well as performing at Wentworth Pride in 2023. Through his resonant vocals and evocative compositions, Oscar Hall invites listeners into a world where vulnerability and resilience harmonize, leaving the listener just a little less broken than he found them.

Nanseera is a 23-year-old, Kampala/Atlanta-based singer-songwriter with an old soul and a distinctive style. The London born performer grew up in Uganda and Ethiopia, moving to the United States for high school and university. All her travels and adjustments bring a nuanced worldview into her music. Taking inspiration from artists like Tracy Chapman, Lianne LaHavas, and Sheryl Crow, Nanseera weaves together poetic stories of losing home, love, and sense of self, then somehow finding them again. Nanseera released her debut album American Odyssey in 2022. The project loosely follows her road trip with friends and a journey of personal discovery.
