Ruby Rose Fox Presents: You and Me and Leonard Cohen, an intimate and stripped-down look at Cohen’s most beloved ballads. Leonard Cohen was Ruby Rose Fox’s (whose name was also formerly Cohen) muse, inspiration for studying Zen Mediation, and of course songwriting. Fox says, “Leonard Cohen’s music is to more like Shakespeare to me and will be presented as bare and raw as possible to respect the power and simplicity of Leonard Cohen’s language.” Fox will be presenting one of her originals entitled, Dear Leonard Cohen, a response from the desert lover embedded in Cohen’s Famous Blue Raincoat.
Boston based artist Ruby Rose Fox is a cultural messenger of our turbulent modern times. Her music is as sonically compelling as it is subversive, packed with lyrics that reflect and challenge our current political state, from #metoo, to the mass-shooting crisis.
Part actress, director, and writer, Fox has never shied away from inventive ways to approach her art. On June 22nd Ruby Rose Fox will release her sophomore album Salt, an utterly cinematic piece of experimental pop that features dense soundscapes built to accompany Fox’s wall-shattering vocals.
