From playing jazz and blues in bars to creating pop music videos and scoring comedy sketches, music has been the consistent thread running through Garret's growth as a person and performer. Though the genres he uses grow and change, his intent to improve himself and the world through music remains the same. His channeling of spirituality through music is inspired by legends like John Coltrane, Keith Jarrett, Wayne Shorter, Jimi Hendrix, and Kenny Werner.
