Norm Zamcheck (“Real Stormin Norman”) is pianist, composer and raconteur with roots in blues and New Orleans styles.. He has released upwards of 10 albums, both on his own, and as part of “Stormin Norman & Suzy”, a group that gained wide notoriety in the 70’s and 80’s. Norm has also composed for film & stage, He performs acoustically as a singer-songwriter around New England and fronts the 6 piece “Real Stormin Band” , which appears regularly in New York City. His most recent musical theater work, “The Legend of Zippersky,” will be staged in April at the Polaris North Theater, NYC.
Mat Kastner plays slide, bluegrass and other roots-guitar styles, as well as electric guitar. He tours regularly with the Washboard Slim and the Bluelights jug band and the Will, Mat and Danacoustic trio. Earlier, he played with groups springing from the New Haven area like The Morning, Randy Burns and the Skydog Band, Karen and the Pistons, The Homesick John O’Leary Band and the Phabulous Pheromones.
Norm and Mat met at college in 1970, headed to Georgia with a psychedelic rock band called “Milkweed” and have been more or less collaborating ever since. Mat’s playing can be heard on the last four of Norm’s albums.
