R.G. Gallagher grew up in Charlestown, Boston in the 40's & 50's, when the neighborhood was almost exclusively families of Irish immigrants. This Irish upbringing and his love of history makes "Irish Need Not Apply" a must see show for all who enjoys profound lyrics & historical storytelling.

A lifelong performing musician, Gallagher studied at Berklee College of Music in the early 70's and went on to form the duo, "Blue Tandem". After over a decade of solo performances, R.G. began "The Boston Cowboy Balladeers" to sing long lost Cowboy songs of the 20's & 30's.

R.G. will be joined by a band, including his son, Jesse Gallagher, who has been the programming director of the Lilypad for the last 10 years.
