  • The Lilypad 1353 Cambridge Street Cambridge, MA, 02139 (map)

Veronica Leahy is a multi-genre composer, multi-instrumentalist, and recent summa cum laude graduate of Harvard College. She studied music at Harvard and Berklee College of Music, winning Harvard's top academic and music awards. As early as high school, Veronica garnered national recognition as a saxophonist in both jazz and classical genres, including an appearance on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert and a spot in the 2018 National YoungArts jazz combo. Since then, Veronica has worked with artists such as Terri Lyne Carrington, Billy Childs, Vijay Iyer, Stew, and Kris Davis, and she appeared on the GRAMMY-winning jazz album New Standards, Vol. 1.

Her senior composition thesis, American Tonic, a song cycle exploring invisible disability, received highest honors. A Tribeca New Music Festival emerging composer, she founded and served as artistic director for CompFest, Harvard's only student composition festival. For two years, she served as composer for the Hasty Pudding Theatricals, the nation’s oldest theater organization. Most recently, she served as the music director for Harvard’s Presidential Inauguration, and is the composer-in-residence with Cambridge Common Voices, a neurodiverse vocal ensemble in the area. Later this month, she will be performing with Kurt Elling as a featured alumni of the Ravinia Steans Music Institute.
