Blending early and current shoegaze with a hint of 80s post-punk and new romantic, The Shallows, from Somerville MA delivery ethereal layered songs punctuated by sometimes haunting, sometimes soaring vocals and memorable hooks. Evolving in fits and starts since 2019, the band has found firm footing – recently releasing their first full length, Wave States.
The Shallows are vocalist Jess Baggia (This Bliss), guitarist Brad Emerson (ex-Strangeways, The Milling Gowns), drummer Jason Keisch (ex-SCUBA, ex-Strangeways). New addition Brian McKinnon joined The Shallows on bass in 2024

Elly Kace (she/her/they) is a queer sound healing mystic and indie artist living in Brooklyn, NY. Their baroque-pop portals incorporate earthy vocals, sparkling sound worlds and sound medicine to conjure a new paradigm of radical self love. As a lyric soprano, she has sung around the world at venues such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center - but lately you can find her channeling sound meditation performances of her pop songs to sold out audiences in NYC and beyond.
