Greg Burk (piano), Rick McLaughlin (bass), and Brooke Sofferman (drums) celebrate a nearly three decade long friendship in this trio set. Greg, who lives in Rome Italy, is making a rare appearance in greater Boston. His career in Europe has exploded since he moved there 20 years ago; he has released 25 CDs as leader or co-leader, The Greg Book Songbook, and he teaches at Italian Conservatories, including the Siena Jazz University, and clinics throughout Europe.
Rick McLaughlin and Brooke Sofferman are Boston-area musicians who appear on stages and in recording studios all over New England. Rick is a Berklee Professor and recently was a guest on The Wonder of Stevie, an Obama Foundation produced podcast on Stevie Wonder. Brooke, endorser of Sonor Drums, Istanbul Agop Cymbals, and Vater Sticks, is a band leader, composer and faculty at UMass Boston, Concord Conservatory of Music, New England Conservatory of Music, and is a Summit Records recording artist.
