Boston based bassist Michael Figge leads a jazz trio featuring top young talents performing dynamic originals and classics featuring the music of Sam rivers and monk.

Michael Figge is a dynamic bassist, composer, and bandleader making waves in jazz. A 2025 Juilliard freshman and current student at Interlochen Arts Academy, he has studied with renowned artists including Matt Brewer, Gerald Cannon, Ben Wolfe, and Rodney Whitaker. He has shared the stage with George Garzone, Francisco Mela, Phil Grenadier, Harvey Diamond, Michael Rodriguez, Andrew Bishop, Bryn Roberts, and Ryan Devlin. Michael has performed at venues like Dizzy’s Club (NYC), Wally’s Jazz Club (Boston), the Museum of Fine Arts (Boston), and The Lilypad (Cambridge, MA). A scholarship recipient at the Brubeck Jazz Summit, he has also played at major festivals such as the Litchfield and Vermont Jazz Festivals. As leader of the Sloweburn Sextet, he showcases his original compositions, and his work as a composer spans commissioned film scores and orchestration for professional productions.
