Three friends and each of their bands celebrate their time at Berklee in a final performance before going their separate ways. Tyler, Sylvia, and Vince each have incredibly unique and distinct musical voices, but each share a common sense of wonder and joy in the process and community of live, improvised, and exciting music.

Tyler’s NEW! Quintet

Tyler’s NEW! Quintet explores the intersections between free improvisation, Appalachian old-time music, and straight-ahead jazz. Presenting a mix of original and traditional music, the chordless quintet puts on a creative, one-of-a-kind show which never fails to surprise and intrigue.

Small Song

Small Song is a band fronted by Sylvia Khouri featuring Althea Wincek, Tyler White and Julian Pavone. They blend Free Jazz, Prog Rock and Ambient sounds; Sylvia singing and playing the trumpet in non-traditional ways through a pedal board, Althea on synth sounds, June on Guitar and pedals, Julian on Drums, and Tyler on C-melody and Baritone sax. While formed at Berklee, the graduates still play together and continue to perform around Boston as well as record their debut album. The band also splits their public performances between original songs and free-improv sets to Shel Silverstein poems.

Vince LaRosa

Vince LaRosa sets sail into the next chapter of his musical journey with a performance branded by his own name. Being influenced by genres ranging from Motown to indie video game scores, Vince dances with the echoes of his past and the ever-changing tides of the present to shed a light on the slippery nature of identity and ’the self’. Backed by friends and collaborators David Jaques on trumpet, Devin Thai on keys, Nathan Hough on bass, and Quinn Domena on kit, Vince attempts to embark on an exploration of his- and subsequently, our own, inner world in a characteristically raw and explosive 45 minutes of music.
